SKY-HI & BMSG – [Members Wanted] Recruitment video

After the WBS and TK Deep Inside interviews revealing that BMSG is still actively hiring more staff, on December 27, 2024 - a recruitment video is posted on the BMSG YouTube channel.

Summary below as you follow along with the video!

- BMSG is a start-up in the music industry
- the music industry is suffering from big corporation disease.

Context: It's called "big corporation" because, as the term implies, happens when the negative impact of a big corporation affects everyone else. It can also impact small to medium-size companies too. You can read more about it here

The J-ent. industry suffering from Galápagos syndrome

🌞: This happened because the system is unable to change from within. If this wasn't the case (if the industry / system was healthy) then they could change, so he started BMSG in order for artists and idols who are putting their life and dream on the line to fulfill their dreams in an easier way and to fight fairly.

He thinks entertainment has the power to revitalize and energize Japan, and that's [one of] BMSG's goal -- to fundamentally revitalize Japan with entertainment.

He thinks the J.ent industry is far removed from general business manners and literacy, and the entertainment industry is now [suffering] from Galápagos syndrome (ガラパゴス化 / garapagosu ka).

Context 2: Galápagos syndrome is a Japanese business term. It refers to businesses or a market (Japan) that is developing in isolation and independently from others. The term "Galápagos" is taken from the name of Galápagos Islands, an island with flora and fauna that was developing independently, isolated from the mainland. (coined by Darwin)

It has been used as an analogy and metaphor to describe trends in Japan not just economically, but also in technology and society.

🌞 : because the system hasn't changed in 30 years, it hasn't been able to grow. There's no point discussing whose fault it was, the system became too big for anyone to handle it. I want to make radical changes to it if [the industry] can move forward in the [performing] arts with more awareness of business manners and literacy, in the cleanest way possible, then [the industry] will grow as a result.

🌞 : It is essential to create a socially sound company, BMSG has been able to grow because of this, and we want to promote this more.

Bulkbuying of CDs

- He thinks that the industry is abusing fans' genuine feelings of "I want to support my artist," and making them buy a lot of CDs, which end up as waste.
🌞 :So what happens with the CDs / plastics? You're just mass-producing them aimlessly.
so he spoke with BE:FIRST and said, "let's stop this once and see"
- The result: CD circulation dropped by ~40% but they reduced 10 ton of plastic waste; the profit overall for everything (CD+goods) doubled 🔥 😤

BMSG is looking for YOU!

BMSG's mission, "To not kill talent" doesn't just refer to artists, it also refers to you, who is watching this video. If you think your talent hasn't been utilized to the fullest, you think your talent can be used for the J-music industry, Japan, the world; OR, you think BMSG is the place for your talents to shine, then we / I'd be very happy to allow BMSG to let your talents shine.

Hope you enjoyed!
