Back in April when MAZZEL's pre-debut "MISSION" was released, a few members went on radio stations to promote the song and the group.
This particular episode with Zennou Countdown Japan had RAN and SEITO talking about music, their fave lines in MISSION so I thought I'd translate it!
RAN gets excited wearing the school uniform
Greetings in Kumamoto dialect
Talks about Yonezu Kenshin’s “LADY”
First CD bought: Arashi’s Sakura Sake (he was around 3-4 y.o.)
Ran would dance to music played on TV, so his parents thought why not get him doing dance lessons
SEITO was always excited to meet new people and make friends at the start of a school year (even though he’s shy)
Went back to his hometown (Hyougo) to tell his parents he’s part of MAZZEL; his parents supported him in his idol career so when they heard the news, his parents cried
Talks about Vaundy’s music – he listens to his music as he goes home on the subway
First CD bought: Ne-Yo’s “Year of the Gentleman” (he was around 9 y.o.)
He learned about this song through dance.
His mom listens to a lot of Western pop music (Backstreet Boys), so he got this on a trip with her to the CD stores.
Seito as a kid - very playful / yancha
Group in general:
Even though RAN is from Kumamoto, he gets influenced with everyone else’s Kansai dialect (there are 3 members)
Usually the Kansai comes out when they wanna throw each other shade, lol
On MISSION
Ran’s fave line: Tatta ichibyou datte
Honno hitotoki datte
Kagayaku tame ni umaretekita
// Even for a second.
Even for a moment
I was born to shine
Seito’s fave line:
Jibun kara nigeta toki koso saigo
When you run away from yourself, that's the end.
Both of them felt like the final screening left the most impact
Hope you found these info interesting!
Please note I translate these for free, so they may not be super perfect.
Retranslations or sharing of the summaries is fine! For retranslations, please notify me beforehand and credit once posted!
