🌞: I think the past six months… you’ve been to my house a lot, haven’t you?

🌞: If we really wanted to dive into your thoughts we shoulda just recorded one of the times you came right?

🌞: It wasn’t like a solo artist gathering, but 🌙came with 🦅, or you came with 🫧.. Or if 🫧 came you’d tag along… 🫧’s currently shooting something at NHK today btw (🌙: Oh really? 🌞: Yes, with 😈)
🌙: Then when [🫧 is] done…
🌞: I think it’s good! That the solo artists are doing various things and activities. Just watching them makes me happy. Mhm… everyone's been pretty interesting lately.
🌙: Yeah, me too. Everyone gets along and the vibes are great. But everyone’s got their own core. It’s interesting!
🌞: Right? Of course when BMSG just started, it was just Core and me… but after THE FIRST the artists increased. I look forward to everyone’s updates and it makes me the happiest seeing everyone’s releases. I look forward to them
🌞: I mean, I check 🌙’s mixes, but there are times when I don’t check 🫧’s (🌙: Hmmm~) Though I hear them eventually, from somewhere
🌙: Like a surprise

🌞: Core.. well, he reveals it himself 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Before I realised he’s released this / that song! That’s so cool, Core! I become like a fan at times like that.
🌞: With 🌙 too, after your major debut it feels like you’re just releasing songs now
🌙: I think so.. Since the pre-debut.. I’ve released something every month.
🌞: What’s that like?
🌙: It’s very fun!

🌙: Yeah~ It’s been exciting, this year. From the pre-debut.. No, since the trainee showcase. It’s been exciting since then.
🌞: I was excited too (🌙: Yay~ 🥺)
🌞: Everyone’s doing their best aren’t they? Of course [this industry] isn’t a place where you put in the hard work and it always pays off. Everyone knows that being a solo artist can make you anxious. But when you do work hard and meet up with everyone… Well, Core doesn’t drink but I have and one time I asked him to come with me to a shrine.. And just tell people what you’re up to, it’s fun isn’t it?
🌙: Yeah, it is!
🌙: And.. I exchanged LINEs and then [he met up with Core] so I wanted to do it again some time…
🌞: After this we can go see 🫧 at NHK

🌞: Let’s go~ I wanted to talk to him anyway. I’m gonna be recording a song soon so I was thinking of going with a happy song. But I was second-guessing myself, suddenly. “Is it the time for a happy song?” I’ve written some lyrics but stopped.. Not sure if I want it to be a happy or cool song.
🌙: I wanted to talk to 🫧 too… 🤣 (🌞: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣) Everyone wants to talk to 🫧 🤣
🌞: What’s funny is, I’m the CEO 😂 but.. I talk to 😈a lot too. So I sometimes can’t decide [between the two of them]. And they answer me too. I sometimes get 5 songs from them, asking which part is good. Novel Core’s probably the person who is listening to the most music right now
🌙: 😈’s a very serious (🌞: Yeah), very!
🌞: A person’s voice is key but it’s the person who is serious-minded that wins right?
🌞: There’s not like one token model student in BMSG… Everyone is pretty serious right
🌙: That’s true. Everyone is serious.
🌞: 🌙’s serious… You struggle with whether to make or not make something, but you actually make it, and it’s good. Before a live everyone’s practicing… There are a lot of artists [in BMSG] who think lives are important. BE:FIRST, MAZZEL, me, Core, and Shota… and edhiii boi too, when he was doing his one-man live in the live house I can tell he practiced a lot seeing him perform. I’m looking forward to 🌙’s one-man live too
🌙: It’s my goal for next year! 💪
🌙: Plus a live is when everyone gets to meet up right?
🌞: WE CAN! BMSG!
🌙: I think that’s very fun and it amps up my [urge to do better]. Like watching Core’s live with 🌞 and 🫧it makes me want to make my live good too.
🌞: When I met up with 🫧 after Osaka. Core, eddy, and I all went to Osaka and we met up there.. It’s fun, doing all of that. It’s good, full of dreams. I’m glad even in my thirties I can collab with all of you

🌞: If we are to make one now, what kind of song would it be?
🌙: Definitely “One More Day” part 2… like a sequel

🌙: I get a lot of inspiration from BMSG artists
🌞: I get that, everyone’s talented
🌞: I think.. Yesterday? MAZZEL had a recording so I was with them all day. Seeing them discuss which parts to lengthen and what they want to show off next year… and we ended the recording very excited. After that, there was BE:FIRST’s D.U.N.K. mix check… There were parts where I went “oh that’s cool!” or “that’s cute~”. Realizing that I come to today, being with REIKO. And tomorrow is 🫧 right? It’s fascinating.
🌙: I think it’s amazing.. To be this close to a boss… it’s not the usual.
🌞: Right? And the boss makes songs 😂 But it’s fun, truly. (🌙: Thanks to you! 🥺) You don’t know who is who.
🌙: Who is who?
🌞: CEO-artist-senpai, I dunno what the balance is.
🌙: hmmm….
🌞: Were you aware I’ve been doing CEO stuff

🌙: So it’s more “senior artist” for me, a “dai-senpai” artist
🌞: Recently 🦁 came over to my house at night. And he said, “You just had work right? Sorry for interrupting you!” and barged in. He was asking, “Whose song is it 🥺 whose song is it 🥺” but it’s not that, you know 😂 I told him, “I have other work besides making songs 😂 I can’t show you what’s on the screen, so wait for me OK” and he said “OKAY!” and played his baseball game 😂 It made me happy though, he’s an easygoing, carefree person.
🌞: We’re both very Christmas-y today aren’t we
🌙: Hidaka-san is this your own clothes?

🌞: When I was tired… I got the offline check for the “Itazura” MV, and I cried you know, because I was tired and stuff. It kind of became a song I couldn’t forget about

🌞: The second half of this year… I don’t usually cry, but I feel 80% like Reichan crying… I’ve been moved a lot. REIKO getting his debut… Wait, didn’t we talk about this when we had a drink…

🌞: It gets long, like why I’m so touched by that [REIKO’s debut]. It’s going to be long so, let’s have a little live? REIKO will actually perform! What’s today’s date? 17? 18? (🌙: 18th!)
And the broadcast of this is.. 23rd? 24th? When it’s REIKO we think of Christmas, when it’s Christmas we think of REIKO. I heard Christmas is celebrated for a very long time in the Philippines?
🌙: Yes. Once it’s December, we already prepare for Christmas.
🌞: When I was looking up on the Internet, they said they start preparing as early as September…

🌙: The reason I did a Holiday Gift this year was because while I was a trainee I released a Christmas cover every year. I made my debut so I thought I’ll release an original song this time but I also said I didn’t mind doing a cover…. I remember saying that.
🌞: Yeah, I was like “sounds good sounds good!” and “I wanna listen!” and then after it all ended I was thinking, what will you sing next year?
🌙: Right? Yeah!

🌞: I thought I’ll go with the feelings of the song, but I don’t have any kind of memories related to [the protagonist] the song. I started just rapping honestly about some stuff and that got me hyped up
🌞: Whether you’re spending Christmas with friends, by yourself, with a lover - treasure them - or with family, treasure that time too. Have a great Christmas everyone
🌙: I woke up early for this recording.. (🌞: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣) and warmed myself up

🌙: Yesterday, I also sang a couple of songs.

🌞: Amazing right… Singing in front of people is a very different energy, yeah?

🌞: A lot of feelings come up right, performing in front of an audience. “Nervous” [this was English]. You get anxious and worried, but you’re also looking forward to performing. An obligation too, to do a good job. But what makes me happy the most is that you look like you’re having fun.
🌙: [relieved] That’s good~ [My] mindset is completely different from THE FIRST
🌞: True! THE FIRST…. [to audience] Anyone watched THE FIRST here? [audience raise hands] Actually I’ll find the people who didn’t raise their hands 🤣 Wow, so all of you?

🌞: Only Taki-san hasn’t raised his hand, oh you did now. That’s a relief.
🌙: They would’ve all seen my tears 😂
🌞: It’s true though. THE FIRST is probably the most 🌙 has cried
🌙: Right?
🌞: I wonder why? Probably because you’re singing from the heart? I’ve been feeling that lately.
🌙: I’m adjusting I think.
🌞: Right? Of course, your techniques are there and you’ve got a lot of “knowledge” [this was also English]. But your emotions and singing, the distance between them is very close. So it’s like… you’re exceeding beyond the lyrics. Not where you forget the lyrics but the emotion in your voice. There are moments where it hits hard.
🌙: Woah, that makes me super happy 🥺

🌞: People who are good at singing obviously like techniques. Singing well and using the techniques in a song. (🌙: I love it!) So your feelings obviously head in that direction, so for emotion to break through that is amazing. (🌙: Yay!) It’s amazing. I think it’ll be fun when you do your one-man next year
🌙: I’m looking forward to Hidaka-san coming 🥺

🌞: I have the greatest views [at these events], I’m sorry 😂

🌙: Yeah, I’ve been dancing a lot

🌞: I wonder since when? But you were kind of into dance around the time THE FIRST wrapped up…
🌙: I think I grew to love it after one season
🌞: That’s.. Music? Dance?
🌙: Dance.. Like once it’s autumn I like it even more. When winter ends, I like it more.
🌞: And you started dancing at 18 right
🌙: Really? Oh yeah
🌞: But you know… BFQ, our dance team, Money also started dancing when he was 18 and became a pro dancer. In 🌙’s case, it’s like your joints… your body wasn’t ready yet.
🌙: I’m training really hard right now! 💪 And had a dance lesson

🌞: I’ll sometimes hear music when I’m at the office and I’d know it’s 🌙 🤣

🌞: And before the BMSG FES… I heard from staff that 🌙 was having self-practice session and it says so on the calendar too. So I was thinking, “Oh 🌙’s there, I’ll head over later” then when I did, 🦅 was there too 🤣 So it was a 🦅🌙 practice session
🌙: Ah… AHHH! [he finally remembers, how precious 🥺] I think I’ve met Hidaka-san a lot whenever I’m with 🦅
🌞: When I met RANREI though, I actually had another work to head off to, so I told them, “Keep working hard~ I’m heading over to 🫧~” then we actually had a meal with 🫧
🌙: Oh yes! We had a meal with 🫧! Then after that we went to Hidaka-san’s house.
🌞: And we told 🦅 and 🌙, “We’ll have a little surprise~” and 🫧 was saying, “Where? Where? Where? I’m getting scared 😟” but we haven’t reached my house yet… The taxi was already stopping in front of my house and it’s going to spoil the surprise 😂 But I’m glad you all came over 🥺
🌙: I think… You also brought up that you were happy about my debut 🤣

🌞: There’s a lot I wanna share~ Episodes… Actually 🌙 and 🫧 met Nissy right. I was working on SUPER IDOL with him when you two came over. So we shared space in my house… All the solo artists gathered there… and, I think something in 🫧 switched on and he started playing AAA songs
🌙: He did he did!! Hidaka-san was going, “REIKO is an artist like this! He’s super good!” to Nissy ( 🌞: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣). He was so proud of bragging about me, I was super embarrassed
🌞: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🌞: And I was drinking. I was kinda drunk too so I was very passionate 😂 Was embarrassing wasn’t it 😂
🌙: For me~ 😂
🌞: 🌙’s been working hard to reach this point, and making songs… I’ve been working hard and so has 🫧. Nissy too, I actually haven’t seen him until [we started working on SUPER IDOL] it’s the gift given to you after working hard and doing your best, right?
🌞: Right now it’s fun, working hard. Everyone is. If it becomes tough then rest. Let’s live a fun life! That sounded like a closing statement, woops.
🌞: It’s very natural to talk about THE FIRST now. I think earlier it was a little embarrassing yeah.
🌙: I couldn’t watch the videos.. Like me dancing to Mr. Psycho.. I couldn’t… I’ve only watched it once or twice after THE FIRST.
🌞: I get it I get it. Like how emotional I got during Training Camp… But it’s been two years, so it’s become a little easier [to look back on it] now
🌙: I think so! Just yesterday I was scrolling through TikTok and found “Beautiful Now”, so I watched it again.
🌞: You did?!
🌙: I was able to watch it!
🌞: Yay~!

🌞: But I wonder you know… would we be embarrassed by how we perform now 2-3 years later? I don’t think I would. Even now, I’m not embarrassed at all watching my videos.
🌙: I probably will.. Because I’m a bit of a perfectionist
🌞: Oh yes, 🌙’s reflects a lot. Like more than I thought you would, you know? BMSG FES Day 1 and 2…
🌙: I was checking the video showing up on the monitors a lot… and I reflected on my Tokyo and Osaka performances and posted it…
🌞: It’s interesting… You were getting better with each show, so it was fascinating.

🌞: Writing lyrics for as long as I have… When to be straightforward, when to use double meaning.. You come to use a lot of different writing devices [depending on the situation]. 🌙 doesn’t have that yet, so that raw honesty? With your voice, it’s working together.
🌙: Yay~

🌞: Very! A straight ball, no matter what curve it’ll become a straight ball.. Maybe a split at the end… why am I using baseball analogies now? 😂
🌞: But it’s great.. Not just within BMSG but the industry in general, I think you have a very unique way of songwriting

🌞: And “Itazura” has a Taglog version, “Hanggang Kailan Pa”, I heard people in SEA are using it a lot? It kind of went viral on TikTok.
🌙: It did… What was the number? Five million views? [this was in English]
🌞: Yeah, it surprised me
🌙: And I saw people confessing in the comments…
🌞: I heard about that too!
🌙: It was so interesting! They tagged the person they liked, and said “I like you” something like that.
🌞: You do want to use [this song] to confess to someone, yeah

🌙: I said this on radio yesterday too… It’s cold, so you want to stay warm… It’s that kind of holiday. So.. when you don’t have someone who can keep warm with you, you feel a certain kind of loss.

[Listener / audience is job hunting rn. Asked 🌞 and 🌙 what made them want to get in to the industry]
🌞: Because you auditioned for THE FIRST when you were in your third year of high school.. What would you have done if you didn’t audition?
🌙: I would’ve wanted to be a flight attendant
🌞: A flight attendant?! That’s wonderful!
🌙: I would suit, wouldn’t I?
🌞: You would! Yeah! And you could talk to my mom too
🌙: Oh that’s right!!

🌞: She was a former flight attendant
🌙: I wanted to [be a flight attendant]... but what prompted me to audition for THE FIRST was.. During the pandemic, I couldn’t return to school life… There was a few months of no school and suddenly we’re back to going to school every morning. It was hard for me physically to get used to that. I couldn’t study, couldn’t motivate myself… and didn’t like myself very much. I found an audition program at the time…
🌞: It’s OK, you can say the name, NiziPro right? 🤣
🌙: 🤣 I was watching NiziPro and it really inspired me, seeing them chase after their dreams and doing their best because they like it. So I decided to do that too, and… 2 years later…
🌞: We met we met~
🌙: It felt like.. I didn’t need to rush it
🌞: Mmmhmm, I get it.
🌞: What really drew people to Reichan was… Actually, when I met [the boys] in THE FIRST it wasn’t decided yet – whether Sukkiri will broadcast it. I only told everyone about [Sukkiri] after the Third Round… (🌙: Yeah) Quite amazing right, to have met like that.
🌙: I didn’t know anything..
🌞: Right? Yeah.
🌙: I searched “audition”, the avex website came up… and it showed THE FIRST… I really didn’t know anything beyond that.. 💦
🌞: It’s truly fate isn’t it?
🌞: In contrast, I’ve been apartment hunting… and in BE:FIRST, there’s a lot of boys living on their own for the first time too. They don’t know which area’s the best to live in… so when you think of what you want, you sometimes don’t know right? Which city do you want to stay in, or what you want.. So you start overthinking about it.. You can start taking away what you don’t like. Then you can narrow down your options to decide. After your move you realise new likes / dislikes so that you can slowly move towards your ideal..
🌞: You can start doing something based on what you “don’t like” / “definitely can’t accept” too. I think that way you eventually can accept doing the things you “didn’t like”. That way you grow as well.
🌙: I.. like enjoying what I do. This is very “feeling” of me, but I go with “this might be fun” or “this might be good” feelings. That was me during THE FIRST (🌞: Yeah!). When I read Hidaka-san’s goal with THE FIRST, my thought was “this might be good!” and auditioned…
🌞: “I might meet him!”
🌞: And then after you do it… You know if it’s the right choice.. That’s why.. Life is hard at times but it’s what [makes life] worthwhile… Maybe a lot of people feel that? Initially, it’s not a job you really like… but after 3 years, you might go, “this is MY job” or “I’ve come to like it!”. Let’s have fun and do our best! 💪 I’ll be supporting you!

🌙: I.. like enjoying what I do. This is very “feeling” of me, but I go with “this might be fun” or “this might be good” feelings. That was me during THE FIRST (🌞: Yeah!). When I read Hidaka-san’s goal with THE FIRST, my thought was “this might be good!” and auditioned…
