Summary of Da-iCE and BE:FIRST's discussion under the cut!
Manato's 1st impression of Taiki (he visited them during round 3 screening): Taiki's super handsome.
Ryoki: We were in the middle of practice so we were all focused on the mirror, then he [Taiki] suddenly appeared in the mirror.
Ryuhei: I've always known about him on TV so I was happy that Taiki showed up. I thought it was very cool of Taiki to talk to the bottom 15 contestants.
Leo: I didn't actually have a lot of confidence in THE FIRST until a contestant told me my [singing] voice was good.
Q: Was there any sense of rivalry in THE FIRST?
B:F - NO, not at all. Taiki further added that, it is because it was THE FIRST and the tone that SKY-HI set for THE FIRST everyone was enjoying themselves.
Sota: Looking back, I think SKY-HI was very good at creating an audition where you feel like you're learning a lot about music. You wanted to deepen your knowledge on music than wanting to pass the audition. Of course, we didn't want training camp or the audition to end, didn't want to say goodbye to our friends - but more importantly it affirmed for me that, "I'd grow a lot here."
Ryuhei: You wanted to do more of it [learning / training].
Sota: Yeah, you wanted to continue learning about singing+dancing.
Yudai (Da-iCE): So you consider it very fortunate to be chosen while you improved?
Sota: Yeah.
Ryoki: We had rankings in the audition, which is fair because it's an audition program, but SKY-HI would give feedback for each one of us. He didn't compare us with someone else, and told us how we could improve, what we should work on to every contestant. He was firm about not comparing contestants with each other by doing that.
Hayate (Da-iCE) took a dance video with Sota once. (Which Sota choreographed!) so he was happy Sota was the 1st member picked for B:F
Tohru (Da-iCE) says there's a 15 y.o. in the group (Ryuhei) so it feels like they're a group that represents a new generation of boy groups.
Sota (Da-iCE) recommends they get along with each other, because they may be doing this for a long time. (And because they've seen groups that debut the same time as them have either disbanded / members withdrew / gone on hiatus.)
Taiki (Da-iCE) saw Manato go through his avex, project taro audition experience. Manato says he remembers Taiki talking about it on Taiki's radio show.
THE FIRST was "the first" audition for: Ryuhei, Ryoki, and Sota. Other members of B:F have participated in other auditions before.
