🦁: When I / we were writing “Grateful Pain” for BE:1 last year, [my] world was feeling very cramped. It felt hard to breathe and [I fel]t I was seeing the world in a very dark light.. Did you have that period of time in your career?
Ryuji: So that was how you felt [writing] “Grateful Pain”? I watched a performance of it recently. I’ve had those down periods, of course. There have been things I didn’t anticipate happen… and periods when things felt very dark… so I understand that what you’re feeling when you’re going through rough times and things look bleak… How I overcame it… I think I just didn’t give up 🤔 With my group.. Well, there’s been a lot that has happened [to the group] I don’t even know where to start, but we’ve achieved a lot of our dreams, we’re also in our 13th year, this being our 13th year is great in and of itself… Even though there’s been some rough patches, other members or as a group.. I think that’s all part of life. It’s not always going to be happy. Not just us, but people in general, we all have some pain we hold, but overcoming that is also what it means to live. It’s also from overcoming those tough periods you taste joy and happiness.. Wouldn’t it be better if you thought about it like that? That even though what’s happening right now is painful / tough, there’ll be happiness and joy once you get through it. That’s how I’ve been thinking as I do my activities at least. I think it’s OK to be a little more optimistic! You’ll definitely be OK. There may be harder times ahead but 🦁’ll be fine.
Ryuji: This is getting heavy!! Let’s talk about something lighter! 😂 It’s our last recording session too!
🦁: It gets heavy when I start talking about these things 😂
Ryuji: You’re a cheery person, so let’s move to something lighter 🤣
Ryuji: We butted heads a lot when we debut, but we’ve matured and everyone can say what they think freely these days
🦁: Do you guys go for meals together?
Ryuji: Of course! We had one at the start of the year, and a lot throughout, the seven of us. We even had a Xmas Party last year
🦁: Really? So you guys ordered cake?
Ryuji: We didn’t get cake but we had dishes and exchanged presents
🦁: That sounds good! I hope BE:FIRST can do something like that 10 years on or more~ 🥺
Ryuji: I mean, we’ve fought a lot, but we all love J Soul Brothers 3rd gen, love music, love singing, BE:FIRST is the same isn’t it?
